Overview: Partagas Serie E No.2
The Partagas Serie E No. 2 is a Lancero vitola, measuring 140mm in length with a 54 ring gauge, this is one of the largest ring gauges used by Partagas. They were released as part of the Partagas E series in 2011.
The wrapper is a beautiful light brown, almost golden in color, that gives off an aroma of warm cedar and chocolate, the construction is superb and it sits perfectly between fingers.
The cold draw gives a delicious cashew flavour and clove mixed with a bit of cedar, which carries into the initial flavour profile. In the second half the complexity continues and the body increases, along with notes of leather and citrus joining the mix.
The smoke is thick and lends a creamy quality to the body, strength is around a medium for the duration of this smoke. Towards the finish the body picks up to a medium full, with rich flavours of honey roasted peanut and a pinch of spice joining in.
The final smoking time was around 90 minutes. If you can manage to keep your hands off these cigars, they would do well with 1-2 years resting time, but certainly not required.
