Macallan Lumina 41.3% 70cl
The Macallan Lumina Bottling Note
The Macallan Quest range (originally released for the Travel Retail market) features four expressions showing off the many, many miles travelled to sources the casks to mature the Speyside whisky. The Lumina expression is made with whisky aged in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, as well as hogsheads. While sherry does get a good look-in with this one, it's a much more vanilla and toffee-focussed dram.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Poached pear and stewed apples, with a kick of black pepper underneath. Some treacle tart notes, too.
Palate: Caramelised nuts dusted with cinnamon, a whiff of waxy peels, guava.
Finish: Fizzy oak and ground nutmeg.
