Bernhard Ott - Fass 4, Grüner Veltliner 75cl, Austria

Winery: Weingut Bernhard Ott

Grape Variety: Grüner Veltliner

Region: Wagram, Niederösterreich, Weinland, Austria

Alcohol Content: 12.5%

Classification: Qualitätswein (Quality Wine)

Food Pairing: Inari sushi, Shiitake Mushroom Nigiri, tofu potstickers, Tamari almonds, Wakame salad with cucumber & carrots, and Yaki Onigiri grilled rice balls.

Description: Fass 4 Gruner Veltliner from Bernhard Ott comes from the vineyards around the Austrian town Feuersbrunn and functions as a benchmark wine for the Ott Domaine. We’re tasting Fass 4 in 2020 and this 2016 seems like it was bottled yesterday, so fresh and so clean. Aromas and flavours of honeydew melon, orange, pear, lime and lime juice, young pea vines and sea brine. The body and alcohol are nice mediums while the acid is a ratchet up from medium. The finish is long and there is room for development over the next decade and beyond.
